LE2024: Hawker For Penn

LABOUR aND CO-OPERATIVE PARTY CANDIDATE FOR PENN

2024 CITY OF WOLVERHAMPTON COUNCIL ELECTION

I am extremely proud, to again stand as the Labour and Co-operative Party candidate for the ward of Penn, in the 2024 City of Wolverhampton Council Election TODAY: Thursday, May 2nd and it would be a true honour to be Elected.

As May 4th 2023 showed - even if agonisingly it wasn’t quite enough, garnering the support of 1,550 residents puts me and the party in a good position to go one better and become a champion for a truly lovely and important part of the world.

Penn is full of decent people, huge talent and fantastic businesses and running in 2023 made me even more humbled and determined to serve in the best way possible, as a People First Councillor.

As someone who was first in my family to attend University and having worked in the Charity, Cultural, Inventory and Major Events sectors by 26 years of age and also having represented the city's young people: despite being an BAME Autistic lad, raised by a single Mother in childhood and always struggling for income, makes me incredibly proud of all I've achieved.

I want that for YOU and your family not least during this Cost of Living Crisis - which remember YOU'RE NOT ALONE within: through giving back to this city which has given me so much, since making Wolverhampton my home in August 2009.

I want that kind opportunity for ALL residents in Penn and I will put that at the heart of all I do in keeping streets clean, protecting green spaces, championing Social Care, ensure our Transport becomes clean and green and gain more investment for its people, including to continue development in our schools.

Vote Kashmire Hawker and Labour and Co-operative on this TODAY, so a new and vibrant champion can serve you and who will be Working Hard to Build a Better Penn!

My Action Plan for Penn

  • Protect and Enhance the Environment: I will work with campaigners to protect Penn’s green spaces including the Seven Cornfields, seek improvements to Penn’s parks, reduce potholes and support Penn in Bloom.

  • Work to Reduce Crime: I will contribute to the regular ‘PACT’ police meetings and work collaboratively with the local Neigbourhood Policing Team to keeep Penn a safe place to live.

  • Deliver Opportunities for Residents: I will help to organise an annual Jobs Fair in Penn, engage with our schools, promote opportunities for young people and promote Economic development.

  • Be an Active Councillor: I will hold ‘Chat with Kash’ surgeries, participate in community events, attend Resident meetings including Penn Resident's Association and continue to canvas on local matters that are important to you.

I also support other important measures, including Labour's on Brownfield First Approach to help Housebuilding, the need for affordable Transport and more funding in our Schools and Health and Social Care system.
